My Running Evolution

The title of this particular should have been the title of the blog but i like to put that as the title since it has been about 18 months since my last publish.

5 - 10 km Running (2013)

This is the range of distance I took upon myself in the race events. The longest was Adidas King Of the Road (KOTR) at 10 km. That was my first 10 km in 2013 beside Run for Gaza. I walked (not including the walk while drinking at the drink stations) two times before reaching the finish line.

5 - 20.5 km Running (2014)

Again i started 2014 with MPIB Run but this time it was 12 km.

After opening the year with a bang of 12 km, my confidence rose to go beyond 12 km. However, i was afraid to register for half marathon in the SCKLM. Instead i registered the hardest among the 10 km. It is called MSIG 10 km Speed whereby i need to finish the 10 km before 75 minutes. The race will be in 1 month time.

My first experience of having a flag-off time very early morning (around 6:20 am) was at NM Galaxy run 15 km and hence i prayed subuh at the site. Surprisingly they have a mock surau and we performed jemaah while the music was stopped to allow us to pray. I was hesitant to go beyond 10 km because i would rather Solat Subuh at home. The new experience did not disappoint me at all.

    Pain

Today I stopped after running for about 4.24 km. It was ok for a while then I started feeling muscle pain on my right iliotibial band. It got worse after a while and after few stretches for itb then it got better. I really need to stretch prior to running.
